Santana's Samba Pa Ti is an instrumental song from the band's debut album, with a beautiful haunting melody on top of a Samba rhythm that goes from slow and sensual to lively. Abraxas. Without a doubt the first album had some interesting instrumental passages. And, driven by the impetus of its appearance in the film, Woodstock, “Soul.
The instrumental, "Samba Pa Ti" ("Samba for You"), was written by Santana after he saw a jazz saxophonist performing in the street outside his apartment. It was later covered by José Feliciano, who added lyrics, and also by Angélique Kidjo, who put lyrics in Yoruba, on her album Oyo.
