  1. The first set on "Queen Live at the Rainbow 74" (recorded in March of ) was originally intended to be released as a live record to help support Queen's first two albums but was shelved in favor of recording their next studio album (which would eventually become "Sheer Heart Attack")/5(K).

Queen, Virgin Records and Eagle Rock Entertainment are proud to announce that Queen: Live at the Rainbow ‘74 will be released on a gatefold double vinyl (including an audio reproduction of the aforementioned original live album) and a quadruple vinyl boxed set. The vinyl editions are released as limited editions.

  3. Jun 20,  · Queen are to release a 40th anniversary celebration of two gigs at London’s Rainbow Theatre later this year, across a multitude of audio and video formats.. Recorded by Roy Thomas Baker, the band’s 31 March show at the Rainbow was so good, it was touted as a live follow-up to Queen II for a while, before this idea was eventually shelved and Sheer Heart Attack became the third album.

The single disc and video editions contain a concert from the band's Sheer Heart Attack Tour, recorded live at the Rainbow Theatre in London on 19 & 20 November , while the double CD and vinyl releases include this material plus a concert recorded at the Rainbow earlier in the year, on 31 March, as part of the Queen II Tour.
